- Karen's father
plays the guzheng and her mother is actively involved in raising money
for cancer and used to work in ATV...
- Karen met Mark
Lui and C.Y. Kong while she was studying at the London University. She
even sang as the lead singer in his band too back then.
- Karen's talent
was discovered through Mark Lui's demo tape and was signed with Star
Records.
- Karen claims to
eat a lot in a day. It is such a miracal that she is able to maintain
her figure without exercising much. She says she owes it to the hectic
schedule she has.
- Karen used to host
a TVB show in 1993 called "Sunday Music Magazine".
- Karen was even
offered a role in "Miss Saigon" when she was ready to go back to HK
and release an album, but she gave up the opportunity.
- Karen's mother
likes to examine the men whom she dates, as she is quite protective
of her daughter.
- C.Y. Kong, Karen, Mark Lui were nicknamed the "Pet Shop Chinks". The three were doing a rehearsal for a Chinese Student Association Variety Show at London University when a group of students overheard them playing a Pet Shop Boy's song in Cantonese and then jokingly called them the "Pet Shop Chinks"!
